Creation of a new innovative depot. Responsibility of the cross-company program management

>> HAMBURG WASSER

HAMBURG WASSER consists of Hamburger Wasserwerke and Hamburger Stadtentwässerung.

Both divisions look back on 180 years of company history and are thus the oldest public water supply and wastewater disposal companies in continental Europe. Today, around 2 million people in Hamburg and the surrounding area benefit from this experience.

Four municipal companies - One vision

In order to meet the requirements of the growing city in terms of sustainable mobility and climate protection, a new innovative depot is being built under the leadership of HAMBURG WASSER.

On parts of the former Stellinger Moor sewage treatment plant, the four municipal companies Hamburg Wasser, Stadtreinigung Hamburg, Stromnetz Hamburg and Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein are pooling their efforts to ensure sustainable land development and at the same time expand the site to more than 2,000 jobs.

"This project holds a model function for inner-city cooperation and sustainable business park use alike."

Our Contribution

As an external service provider, the House of PM was responsible for the cross-company program project management for this project.

The range of services included the selection and introduction of the program methodology, based on the project management guidelines of the Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the development of a common understanding of the objectives, a project phase plan and the derivation of a decision-making structure. As part of the implementation, a stakeholder-appropriate communication concept, including document and information management, was set up. The project was rounded off by advising the internal program management on strategic decisions.

For the two programme project managers from the House of PM, project-specific features included the derivation of the needs of the participating companies in accordance with DIN 18205 and the establishment of regular stakeholder communication at Senate level.

The coordination and control of all activities was carried out using MS Teams and MS Planner.
